We had a guest from Sri Lanka, Renuka Kariyawasam. She taught us a lot of things about Sri Lanka.

（講師のRenuka Kariyawasamさんを招き、スリランカについての講習を受けました。）

Sri Lanka is an island country in the Northern Indian Ocean. It was known until 1972 as Ceylon.

（スリランカはインド洋にある島国です。１９７２年まではセイロンと呼ばれていました。）

Sri Lanka is known as “the Pearl of the Indian Ocean” because of its natural beauty.

The island contains tropical forests and a diverse landscape with high biodiversity.

（スリランカはその自然の美しさから「インド洋の真珠」として知られています。島には熱帯林や多様な生物がいます。）

We were able to realize the differences in culture and language between Japan and Sri Lanka.

（日本との文化や言語の違いを改めて実感することができました。）

I would like to deepen international understanding by taking advantage of this experience.
